Question : SETTING UP OF PENSION COURT FOR PENSIONER



(a) whether there is any proposal to set up pension court in the country for pensioner;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) if not, the steps taken/proposed to be taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) The Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare has informed that there is no such proposal under consideration in the Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare for setting up of `Pension Courts` in the country for pensioners.

(b) Does not arise.

(c) The Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare, has been advocating setting up of Pension Adalats of the type prevailing in the Ministry of Railways for expeditiously looking into pensioners grievances. These Adalats are functioning in the nature of public grievances redressal mechanism and not as legal bodies.
