(a) whether the Government has any proposal to construct bypass on NH-85 from Muvattupuzha to Kothamangalam in the State of Kerala;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government is aware of the slow pace of work on National Highway development projects in the State and if so, the reasons therefor; and
(d) the details of such major projects in the State along with the funds provided for each project during the years 2018-19 and 2019-20?

(a) to (b) The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Theni – Munnar – Kochi stretch of NH – 85 including Muvattupuzha to Kothamangalam has been initiated.
(c) to (d) Some 4/6-lane projects executed through National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) have been delayed due to various reasons such as Public protest, delay in land acquisition, non-availability of burrow earth & aggregates and delay in Forest clearance etc. The details of such major projects along with the expenditure incurred during the years 2018-19 and 2019-20 are as below:
