Question : WORKERS INVOLVED IN MDMS

(a) whether the Government has any data of workers involved in works related to Mid Day Meal Scheme undertaken in Government schools and if so, the details thereof, State-wise;

(b) whether the Government has fixed any criteria for recruitment of such workers for preparing Mid Day Meals;

(c) if so, the details thereof category-wise (SC/ST/OBC);

(d) whether there is huge disparity with regard to workers belonging to SC/ST communities involved in such programmes; and

(e) if so, the number of cases registered against those who have been allegedly trying to sabotage this programme?

(a): The State-wise number of cook-cum- helpers engaged by the States / UTs is given at Annexure-I.

(b): The norms for engagement of cook-cum- helpers are 1 cook-cum-helper upto enrollment of 25 students in the school, 1 more cook-cum- helper from 26 to 100 and 1 additional cook-cum- helper for every addition of 100 students in the school.

(c): The State-wise and category-wise cook-cum- helpers is given at Annexure-II.

(d) & (e): There is no disparity with regard to workers belonging to SC, ST community.
