(a) whether Ministry of Railways proposes to take over the port rails;
(b) if so, whether any Memorandum of Understanding has been signed by Ministry of Railways with the Ministry of Shipping in that regard;
(c) if so, the details thereof; and
(d) the steps taken in this regard ?

(a): The Ministry of Surface Transport has proposed handing
over of the Port Railways to the Ministry of Railways. The
issue is under discussion between the Ministry of Railways
and the Ministry of Surface Transport.
