STATEMENT IN RESPECT OF PARTS (a) TO (c) OF LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 307 TO BE ANSWERED ON 5th AUGUST, 2002 REGARDING AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH.

(a) Yes, Sir.

(b) Besides conducting research through the ongoing Plan Scheme, some of the new proposals have been identified for the Xth Five Year Plan. The details of which are given in Annexe-1.

(c) The details of annual expenditure incurred by the Department are as under:

The expenditure details in respect of the year 2001-02 are being consolidated.

Since the Xth Five Year Plan started from April, 2002, the details of expenditure to be incurred on new proposals are in the process of finalization.

iv. Networking of Bio-systematic of Insects
v. Networking of Organic Farming
vi. Network on Impact of Climatic Change.
vii. Network on Toxins
viii. Educational programmes covering Education Technology Cell, Vocational Courses, HRD: SAU - NAARM Regional facility, Instructional Model Plants and New Centres under Centres of Advance Studies.
