Question : NAVAL ACADEMY AT EZHIMALA

(a) whether the Naval Academy at Ezhimala is not yet fully commissioned;

(b) if so, the details alongwith the reasons therefor and the time by which it is likely to be fully commissioned;

(c) whether the Indian Navy is imparting training to the officers and sailors from within the country and abroad;

(d) if so, the details thereof, country-wise;

(e) whether the Indian Navy personnel were also deputed abroad for various training courses; and

(f) if so, the details thereof during the last three years?

(a) & (b): The Depot Ship INS Zamorin at Naval Academy, Ezhimala was commissioned on 5th April 2005 and training commenced in August 2005. Training for B.Tech Programme will commence after completion of some of the works which have been delayed due to topographical & climatic constraints and non-availability of labour etc.
