Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) FOR MINISTRY OF STATISTICS AND PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION, MINISTER OF STATE FOR MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS AND MINISTER OF STATE FOR MINISTRY OF OVERSEAS INDIAN AFFAIRS [GENERAL (Dr.) V.K. SINGH (Retd.)]

(a) to (c): Implementation of the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) works in the field is undertaken by the District Authorities, in accordance with the State Government’s technical, administrative and financial rules and in accordance with the Guidelines on MPLADS. The Guidelines are available in the public domain, including on the official website of Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation ( www.mospi.nic.in ).

Para 3.22 of Guidelines stipulates that as soon as a work under the MPLADS is completed, it should be put to public use. For greater public awareness, for all works executed under MPLADS, a plaque carrying the inscription ‘Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme Work’ and indicating the cost involved, the commencement, completion and inauguration dates and the name of the MP sponsoring the project should be permanently erected.
