a) to (d): Yes Sir. Government had launched North East BPO Promotion Scheme (NEBPS) for promotion of investment in IT/ITES in North East Region and creation of employment opportunities by incentivize setting up of BPO/ITES operations. NEBPS provides financial support upto ? 1 lakh per seat in the form of viability gap funding towards capital and operational expenditure along with special incentives like encouraging employment to women and physically disabled persons, promoting local entrepreneurs etc with an outlay of Rs. 50 crore. The duration of the scheme to invite bids was upto 31.03.2020. However, disbursements under the scheme shall continue beyond this period. The disbursement of financial support under this scheme is on reimbursement basis directly linked with the objective i.e. employment generation by the units. After generating minimum employment as per the target under the scheme, BPO/ITeS units claim reimbursement of capital and operational expenditure. Till now, one BPO/ ITES unit has received support of Rs. 11.3 lakhs under NEBPS in FY 2019-20 and claims of about Rs. 30 lakhs are under approval in this financial year. Presently, the BPO/ITES units set up under NEBPS have reported direct employment of 671 persons.
(e): Government has launched India BPO Promotion Scheme (IBPS) for creation of employment opportunities and dispersal of IT/ITES industry in small cities and towns across the country including Uttar Pradesh. Further, Next Generation Incubation Scheme (NGIS) has been launched by Government to create vibrant software product ecosystem and to complement the robust IT Industry for continued growth, new employment and enhance competitiveness. NGIS has been launched from 12 locations including Lucknow and Prayagraj. Further, Technology Incubation and Development of Entrepreneurs (TIDE 2.0) Scheme is being implemented to promote tech entrepreneurship through financial and technical support to incubators engaged in supporting ICT start-ups using emerging technologies such as IoT, AI, Block-chain, Robotics etc. in seven pre-identified areas of societal relevance. Under this scheme Incubation centres at Kanpur and Ghaziabad are operational in the State of Uttar Pradesh. Also, MeitY has initiated one Centre of Excellence (CoE) on Medi-Electronics & Health Informatics at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh to stimulate the establishment and growth of technology-based start-ups in the field of medical electronics and health informatics by providing the necessary infrastructure, mentoring, marketing, funding and eco-system required for their success and growth.
