Question : DISTRICT DISABLED REHABILITATION CENTRES

(a) the details of the sanctioned functional and sanctioned-non functional District Disabled Rehabilitation Centres (DDRCs) in the country along with the causes for non-activation of the sanctioned-non functional centers and the efforts made to root-out those causes, State-wise;

(b) the time bound programme and the action plan to develop the District Disabled Rehabilitation Centres into social welfare centers;

(c) the budgetory allocation made and released by the Government to each DDRC during each of the last three years and the current year;

(d) the amount spent out of that during the said period;

(e) the details of various articles and equipments provided by the Government to such centers, particularly in Kota District; and

(f) the details of approval, construction, progress, process, among each of the sanctioned projects in the premises of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Social Justice Centre at Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh?

(a) The details of State-wise sanctioned functional and non-functional District Disabled Rehabilitation Centres (DDRCs) in the country are given at Annexure. The major causes for sanctioned DDRCs being non-functional are delays in: (I) making the land available by the State Governments, and (II) recruitment of staff by the District Management Committees.

(b) DDRCs are functioning for the welfare of persons with disbilities.

(c) to (f) The information is being collected.
