(a) whether the Government is aware that about 60 companies which have been black
listed by Prasar Bharati are again doing business with Prasar Bharati under the changed names;
(b) if so the details thereof and the reaction of the Government thereto;
(c) the names of companies black listed by the Prasar Bharati during the last three
years and till date and the nature of the charges leveled against each of these companies; and
(d) the action taken by the Government against such companies?

(a) to (d) : Prasar Bharati has informed that 34 companies have been black listed for non
completion of work assigned, financial and other irregularities, of which 28 are
programme production houses, and 5 are equipment suppliers and one is a construction
firm. The names of companies black listed alongwith reasons therefor are given in the
Annexure. Prasar Bharati has further informed that the names of all these companies
have been circulated to all Doordarshan Kendras and AIR stations with direction not to
entertain any offer of business from them and to ensure that no such company comes for
business from back door by a changed name.
