(a) whether the Government has directed the States to check illegal activities related to surrogacy;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the current scenario of surrogacy in the country; and
(d) the steps taken by the Government to regulate commercial surrogacy in the country?

(a) to (d): The Government has issued guidelines regarding commissioning of surrogacy, not to support commercial surrogacy as also to prohibit foreigners from commissioning surrogacy in the country vide communication No.V.25011/1192015-HR dated 04.11.2015. The same is available on website dhr.gov.in.
