(b) A statement showing State-wise allocation for the year 2007-08 is placed at Annexure-I.
The Government every year formulates a Distribution Scheme for proper supply of iron and steel
items to Small Scale Industries (SSI) sector and allocation to the SSI Corporations.The scheme
is formulated by a SSI Coordination and Review Committee, consisting of Secretaries of Small
Scale Industries of State Governments, Managing Directors of State Small Scale Industries
Corporations, Chairman-cum-Managing Directors, of National Small Industries Corporations Ltd.,
CMD/MD of main steel producers like Steel Authority of India Ltd, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd,
TATA STEEL and Producers` Associations.A copy of the Distribution Scheme for the year 2007-08
is also enclosed at Annexure-II.
