(a), (b) & (c) In view of the growing volume of workload due to
exponential increase in taxpayer base and the consequent need for
induction of technology, the Government has approved a restructuring
plan for the Income tax department which is based on the objective of
increasing the productivity of the department through induction of
technology, which involves redeployment of the existing manpower through
redefining the span of control redesigning of the business process and
re-training of the manpower. .
(d) Restructuring process involves increase in productivity.
By itself, this will go to reduce the cost of tax collection.
