(a) the total number of Educationally Backward Blocks (EBBs) in Uttar Pradesh and
Gujarat that have benefited under Samagra Shiksha Yojna, implemented by
the Government during the last three years; and
(b) the total number of Low Wage Economy (LWE) affected districts, border
areas, special focus districts selected under Samagra Shiksha Yojna in Uttar Pradesh;
during the last three years?

(a) & (b): The number of Educationally Backward Blocks (EBBs) is 85 in Gujarat and
702 in Uttar Pradesh. In Uttar Pradesh, there are 39 Special Focus Districts, out of which 3
Districts are Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected and 7 Districts are Border Area Districts.
Under Samagra Shiksha, priority is given for approval of interventions in Special Focus
Districts, Aspirational districts and EBBs.
