Question : RAILWAY RECRUITMENT BOARD



(a) whether the Railways have taken note the prevalent of incidents of malpractices in Railway Recruitment Board and Railway Recruitment Cell during the examination;

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the number of cases reported during the last three years and the current year State/Zone-wise;

(c) action taken/being taken by the Railways against the guilty officials;

(d) whether the Railways have taken a note that the paper of the recently concluded Group ‘D’ Test has been leaked in many parts of the country;

(e) if so, the details thereof; and

(f) the corrective steps taken by the Railways including the re-examination of the said recruitment examination?

(a) & (b): Yes, Madam. Large scale recruitments have been made in last three years by 21 Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) and 16 Railway Recruitment Cells (RRCs), wherein more than 40 exami- nations have been conducted and about 2.75 lakh candidates have been empanelled. Few reports of alleged malpractices have come to notice in RRBs–Kolkata, Ranchi, Bangalore, Bhopal & Patna and RRCs-Eastern Railway, North Central Railway, Northeast Frontier Railway, South Central Railway, South Eastern Railway & South Western Railway.

(c) Administrative or disciplinary action, as was appropriate in the individual case, has been taken against the concerned officials.

(d) to (f): Leakage of question papers of the written examination conducted by RRC, Eastern Railway on 23-11-2014 (second session) and 30-11-2014 (both session) has duly been taken note of. Written Examination of RRC, Eastern Railway of the said dates have been cancelled and re-examination has been proposed.
