(a) whether after the approval of Parliament, the Railways have sanctioned the conversion of the Lalkuan-Bareilly Railway line into broad gauge to be extended later on to Bareilly-Pilibhit- Tanakpur sections; and
(b) if so, the steps taken so far in this regard?

(a)&(b) It has been decide to take up work of conversion of Lalkuan-Barellly section as an extension of Kanpur-Kasganj-Mathura and Kasganj-Bareilly gauge conversion project.
Preliminary works for preparation of plans and detailed estimate have been taken up.
