Question : Grid Connected Solar and Wind Power Plants

(a) the details of the grid connected solar and wind power plants which have come up during the last five years, State-wise;
(b) ) whether the plants are utilizing their full capacity;
(c ) if so, the details of installed capacity of power generation and actual power generated by such plants; and
(d) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) The State-wise details of the grid connected solar and wind power plants, which have come up during the last five years, are given in Annexure-I and Annexure-II respectively
(b) to (d) Since, most of the solar and wind power plants are set up with private sector investment, as such it is imperative for them to utilise their full capacity so as to have financial viability of the plants. As on 29.02.2020, cumulative solar and wind power installed capacity was 35065 MW and 37669 MW respectively. As per, Central Electricity Authority the solar and wind power projects generated 34.80 BU and 54.40 BU respectively from April 2019 to December 2019.
