Question : Treatment under Siddha Medicare System

Will the Minister of AYURVEDA, YOGA AND NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY (AYUSH) be pleased to state:

(a) the details of facilities provided for treatment under Siddha medicare system in the country;

(b) the names of the places where these facilities are available under Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), State/ UT-wise and location-wise; and

(c) the details of the steps being taken by the Government to provide these facilities in the parts of the country where there is no availability of such a medicare system at present?

(a): For the benefit of people, both Central and State governments have taken various steps for providing treatment through Siddha system of medicine. The Central government, through Ministry of AYUSH, has established hospitals, dispensaries, research institutes / units and through them disseminating various activities and health programmes.
The details of the facilities provided for treatment under Siddha medicare system in the country is given at Annexur.

(b): Under Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), Consultation and OPD (Out Patient department) medicines are provided at the Siddha Units.

Details of Siddha CGHS Units Location –wise are as under :-

1. KK Nagar Siddha Unit - Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
2. Lodhi Road Siddha Unit - New Delhi.
3. Anna Nagar Siddha Unit - Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

(c): Steps have been taken by Ministry of AYUSH to launch Siddha units in other parts of the country where Siddha medical facilities are not available, namely North East region (Guwahati) and Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh).

In addition to this, Ministry of AYUSH has been organizing AROGYA Fairs & Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities all over the country and providing Siddha health care services to the general public.
