(a) whether a number of proposals for hydro power projects are pending with the Government for environment clearance;
(b) if so, the details thereof, State/UT-wise and project-wise and the reasons therefor ; and
(c) the steps taken by the Government to expedite the clearance for the said proposals/

(a) to (c) Government is appraising twenty (20) hydropower projects in consideration of grant of environmental clearance (EC) to these projects. List is Annexed. The proposals are processed for environment clearance as per the provisions under the Environment Impact Assessment Notification 2006. These projects are accorded clearance within the stipulated timeframe and after receiving requisite documents from the project proponents.
