(a) whether it is a fact that the mushrooming of IT institutes are leading of decline in the quality of IT education in the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the steps being taken by the Government to ensure the quality in the IT education?

(a) and (b): There has been an increase in private IT training
institutions during the last few years.
(c): AICTE has initiated number of schemes for faculty development
and training such as Quality Improvement Programme (QIP), Early
Faculty Induction Prgoramme (EFIP) and Continuing Education
Programme (CEP). In addition, DOEACC Society, an autonomous
organisation under the Ministry of Information Technology has a
voluntary scheme under which computer training institutions in the
private sector are given accreditation for conduct of DOEACC
Courses subject to their meeting well defined criteria in terms of
faculty and infrstructure.
