(a) whether the Government has received comments from all the concerned
ministries for including ship breaking activity in Petroleum Rule, 2002;
(b) if so, the details thereof and decision taken by the Government thereon; and
(c) if not, the present status thereof?

(a): Yes, Sir.
(b) & (c): The comments received from all concerned Ministries have been examined
in consultation with the Ministry of Law & Justice. Petroleum Rules, 2002 has been
amended vide Notification GSR 61 (E) dated 2nd February, 2007 to include ship
breaking activity.
