(a) to (e) The Planning Commission has given approval `in-principle` to set up two new Schools of Planning and Architecture(SPAs) during the XIth Plan. These Schools will be set up by the Central Government at Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh and Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. The State Governments of Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh have since identified 100 acres of land in Bhopal and Vijayawada respectively for setting up of these Schools. The State Government of Tamil Nadu has also requested for opening two such Schools, at Chennai and Coimbatore. However, there is no proposal at present to open more such Schools during the XIth Plan.
