Question : Port Projects in Visakhapatnam

(a) whether the Government has inaugurated several port projects in Vishakhapatnam Port Trust in the recent past;
(b) if so, the details and the salient features thereof;
(c) the extent to which these projects will enable the ports to cut down their logistics cost, improve supply chains and make local goods globally competitive in line with Maritime India Vision 2030;
(d) the details of the expenditure likely to be incurred along with the funds allocated, released for these projects; and
(e) the time by which these projects are likely to be completed?

(a)&(b) Yes, Sir. The details of the projects which have been inaugurated in recent past at the Port of Visakhapatnam are as under:-

3. “Sagarmala Convention Centre” for the benefit and welfare of Port employees and general public at large.	23.02.2022
4. “Multi-Beam Echo Sounder (MBES)” installed in Nirmal Survey launch which will help VPA to strengthen its Hydrographic survey operations.	02.03.2022
