Question : Reserves of Urea

Will the Minister of CHEMICALS & FERTILIZERS be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government is in a position to fulfil the demand of urea during the current cropping season in the States particularly in Maharashtra;

(b) if so, the details of reserves of urea and estimated demand of urea State- wise including Maharashtra;

(c) whether the Government proposes to give permission to the companies to import urea directly against the current practice of importing fixed quantity of urea through State Trading corporation (STCs)and Metals and Minerals Trading Corporation Limited (MMTC); and

(d) if so, the details thereof?
