(a) whether the Government has any proposal to establish Mega Solar Air Purifying Units in the near future;
(b) if so, the details thereof specially in Delhi/NCR;
(c) if not, the reasons therefor; and
(d) the details of plan outlay and implementation procedure for any such proposal in the near future?

(a) to (d) A proposal titled “Project for Demonstrating the Feasibility of Reducing Air Pollution Exposure in Urban Area by Using Large Scale Cleaning System” was submitted by Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) for control of air pollution under EPC (Environment Protection Charge) funds. The project aims to develop and deploy large scale air purifying system named Adaptive Clean Air Network (ACAN) with downdraft flow type for reduction of Particulate Matter (PM).
The proposal was forwarded to Department of Science and Technology (DST) on for evaluation and inputs. The proposal was discussed by a DST appointed Expert Panel. The project proponent is to submit response to queries and based on the response Expert Panel will come out with final decision on award of project.
