Question : Welfare of Destitute Women

(a) whether the Government has prepared or proposes to prepare any programme to provide education and employment opportunities to the poor, widow and destitute women in the country for their welfare and if so, the details thereof;
(b) the funds allocated/released and utilised under such programmes during each of the last three years and the current year, State/UT-wise;
(c) the details of the centres where these programmes are being run, State/UT- wise;
(d) the number of women benefited from these programmes during the said period, State/UT-wise;
(e) the reasons for slow pace of implementation of these programmes during the said period; and
(f) the corrective measures taken by the Government for effective implementation of the programmes?

(a): No, Madam. However, the Ministry of Women and Child Development is implementing the Swadhar Greh Scheme which targets the women victims of difficult circumstances who are in need of institutional support for rehabilitation so that they could lead their life with dignity. The Scheme envisages providing shelter, food, clothing and health as well as economic and social security for the women victims of difficult circumstances. Under Swadhar Greh Scheme, the Ministry provides financial assistance to the implementing agencies as reimbursement of fees for Vocational Training under National Council on Vocational Training (NCVT) approved plan.

(b) to (f) Does not arise in view of reply to (a) above.
