(a) whether the Government is aware that tourism is badly affected due to corona pandemic;
(b) if so, whether the Government is aware of the tourism potential of the States of Rajasthan, Gujarat as these States have a large number of hill stations, wildlife, heritage sites, historical locations and temples;
(c) if so, the details thereof; and
(d) the steps taken by the Government to promote tourism in the country including Rajasthan and Gujarat?

(a): Yes, Sir. Tourism sector is one of the badly affected areas due to corona pandemic.
(b) to (d): In order to develop tourism related infrastructure and facilities in the country including Rajasthan and Gujarat, the Ministry of Tourism has launched the Swadesh Darshan and PRASHAD schemes. The projects for development of tourism related infrastructure are identified for development under the circuit in consultation with the State Governments/UT Administrations and are sanctioned subject to availability of funds, submission of suitable detailed project reports, adherence to scheme guidelines and utilization of funds released earlier.
Based on the above criteria, the Ministry of Tourism has sanctioned projects for development in the States of Rajasthan and Gujarat under the Swadesh Darshan and PRASHAD Schemes, as per details given in Annexure.
