Question : SWACHH BHARAT MISSION

(a) the details of proposals received by the Government under Swachh Bharat Mission so far, State-wise;

(b) the details of proposals cleared and funds sanctioned/released along with the details of works conducted or likely to be conducted, State-wise;

(c) the details of proposals lying pending, the reasons therefor and the time by which pending proposals are likely to be cleared;

(d) whether the Government is facing hurdles in the implementation of the Mission;

(e) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor along with the action taken/ being taken by the Government in this regard;

(f) whether the Government has received complaints regarding misappropriation of funds under the Mission and if so, the details thereof along with the action taken/being taken by the Government in this regard; and (g) whether the Government has taken any initiative to include urban and rural participation in the Mission and if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): Sanctions released so far to the States for Swachh Bharat Mission are as under:-

Maharashtra - Rs.135 Crore, Gujarat - Rs. 40.95 Crore, Madhya Pradesh – Rs. 18.81 Crore, Chhattisgarh – Rs. 30.79 Crore, Bihar – Rs. 37.72 Crore, West Bengal – Rs. 64.01 Crore, Odisha – Rs. 1.43 Crore, Manipur – Rs. 11.21 Crore, Andhra Pradesh – Rs. 40 Crore and Karnataka – Rs. 80.01 Crore.

(c): Proposals from the States are being received on a continuous basis and action is being taken as per the prescribed procedure.

(g): Under the Swachh Bharat Mission there are components for Public Awareness, IEC Activities and Capacity Building under which various activities are being under taken.
