(a) the details of cyclone shelters set up in the State of Kerala;
(b) whether the State Government of Kerala has made any representation to set up a unit of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in the State; and
(c) if so, the details thereof and the response of the Government thereto?

(a): As per information made available by the State Government of Kerala, the construction of one cyclone shelter at Vatakara in Khozikode district is in progress.
(b) & (c): The Government of Kerala had requested to place a unit of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in the State for providing response during disasters. As per vulnerability profile of the State, the Government of India had decided to place one team of NDRF at Khozikode permanently for providing prompt response during disasters in Kerala. The Government of Kerala has been requested to provide suitable accommodation / land for the team.
