Question : SHIFTING OF PETROL PUMPS FROM CONGESTED PLACES



(a) whether the Government are aware that existence of Petrol Pumps in a congested areas like Connaught Place, New Delhi is a safety and traffic hazard;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the owners of these Petrol Pumps have represented the Government to shift their Petrol Pumps to a safer Place; and

(d) if so, the action the Government propose to be taken thereon?

(a) to (d): Retail Outlets (ROs) in congested areas all over the country, including Connaught Place, are operated with valid explosive licences and meeting all mandatory requirements. Wherever, such ROs become safety/traffic hazards or when requests are received from the concerned dealers for resitement, efforts are made to resite them to other locations in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the Government.
