Question : TOURIST INFLOW IN HOTELS



(a) the total number of tourists inflow in hotels in the country during the last two years;

(b) the number of foreign/domestic tourists/domestic tourists visited during the last two years, separately year-wise;

(c) the foreign exchange earned as a result thereof; and

(d) the percentage of domestic tourists which stayed in 7-Star, 5-Star and 4-Star hotels during the said period?

(a): The estimated number of visits of tourists who stayed at hotels and other accommodation establishments run on commercial basis in the years 1999 and 2000 are 197 million and 216 million respectively. Similar data for the year 2001 is not available.

(b): The estimated number of foreign tourist arrival to the country and domestic tourist visits in the country during the last two years is as follows:
