(a) whether the Government has taken any steps for the promotion of domestic electronic industry of the country under Make In India scheme keeping in view the challenges from the global electronic industry and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether the Government is planning for production linked incentive schemes for manufacturing ACs and LEDs in order to boost the domestic manufacturing; and

(a): The steps taken by the Government for the promotion of domestic electronic industry of the country under Make in India scheme keeping in view the challenges from the global electronic industry are enclosed at Annexure.
(b) & (c): The Union Cabinet has given approval to the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for White Goods (Air Conditioners and LED lights) to be implemented over FY 2021-22 to FY 2028-29 with an outlay of Rs. 6238 Crore on 7th April 2021.
The Scheme has been notified by DPIIT on 16.04.2021 and the Scheme Guidelines has been published on 4th June, 2021. Online application window is open from 15/06/2021 to 15/09/2021.
