(a) whether the amendment proposed by the Delhi
University in the ordinance pertaining to appointment of
Principals and Lecturers have not been found in accordance
with the recommendations of the University Grants
Commission;
(b) if so, the details of the proposed amendment;
(c) whether these have been reviewed in the light of the
objections raised; and
(d) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (d) The Executive Council of University of Delhi,
at its meeting held on 8.7.2002, had passed amendments to
the Ordinances of the University relating to constitution of
Selection Committee for Lecturers and Principals in the
colleges of the University. On examination of these
amendments it was observed that they were not in conformity
with the UGC Regulations on composition of Selection
Committees. The Visitor has, therefore, suspended the
operation of these amendments.
