Question : Financial Aid to Dairy Farmers

(a) whether it is a fact that the State of Maharashtra has the least number of dairy units and has also received the least financial aid from the Central Government for setting up of dairies by the youth and women of the States of Maharashtra and Gujarat;
(b) if so, the details of the number of applications received from all the States including the States of Maharashtra and Gujarat during financial years 2018-19 and 2019-20 along with the number of youth and women provided with financial grant-in-aid; and
(c) the details of budget allocation for youth and women to set up dairies, State-wise including Maharashtra and Gujarat?

(a) Under the erstwhile beneficiary oriented Central Sector Scheme - Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme (DEDS) implemented by the Department through National Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) during the period from 2010-11 to 2019-20, Maharashtra has received Rs.143.54 Crore, which is 7.59 % of the total subsidy amount of Rs.1892.28 Crore disbursed across the country. The details of total dairy units/number of beneficiaries including women beneficiary assisted under DEDS in Maharashtra & Gujarat in comparison to all India is as follows :-
