Question : FOUR LANING OF QUILON TRIVANDRUM SECTION OF NH - 47



(a) whether the Government propose to construct four lane road on National Highway-47 in Kerala;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government have considered to Quilon-Trivandrum Section in NH-47 for four laning; and

(d) if so, the time by which the said work is likely to be taken up for execution?

(a) & (b) Out of 373 Km. length of NH-47, about 44 Km. length is already four laned. Cochin - Salem Spur in length of about 150 Km. has already been accepted as a part of National Highway Development Programme, which is proposed to be developed to four lane in phases, subject to availability of funds.

(c) & ((d) In Quilon - Trivandrum Section stretch only the stretch from Km. 541 to Km. 551 has been included in the current Annual Plan for feasibility study/detailed engineering. Construction works will be taken up in phases depending upon the availability of funds after the completion of feasibility study/ detailed engineering and land acquisition.
