Question : INDEPENDENT BROADCASTING AUTHORITY

(a) whether the Government propose to regulate and discipline the entry of satellite T.V. in the country;

(b) if so, whether the Government propose to contemplate to set up an Independent Telecasting/Broadcasting Authority for this purpose;

(c) if so, the details thereof; and

(d) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (d): The Govt. proposes to bring before the Parliament a comprehensive legislation which will, inter-alia, provide for regulatory mechanism for various aspects of broadcasting.
