Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) the number of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) in the world, country-wise;
(b) the remittances made by NRIs during the last three years, year-wise; and
(c) the facilities provided to NRIs and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) by the Government?

(a) On the basis of data provided by the Indian Missions abroad in April 2016, there are an estimated 11.5 million NRIs in the world. The country wise data of the number of NRIs compiled on the basis of data received from our Missions abroad is given in statement attached as Annexure-I.
(b) The remittances made by NRIs during last three years as per data obtained from Reserve Bank of India in April 2016 are as follows:
