(a) the total number of students pursuing research degrees, including M.Phil. and Ph.D. who received fellowships from Government during the last three years and the current year, year-wise;
(b) the average benefits of these fellowships, including stipend, tuition fee allowance and study grants; and
(c) the total budget allocated to research fellowships and the proportion disbursed during the said period?

(a) to (c): The University Grants Commission (UGC) implements eight fellowships schemes for pursuing full time M.Phil/Ph.D degrees in Indian Universities. Details of year-wise and scheme-wise number of student beneficiaries and grant sanctioned during last three years and current years are at annexure-I.
The fellowship-wise benefits including allowances as applicable are at annexure-II.
