Question : BENEFITS TO EMPLOYEES



(a) the number of the textile mills, showrooms and outlets run by the National Textiles Corporation (NTC) Limited at present including the number of workers/employees and officers serving in the above units, State-wise;

(b) whether the large number of regular employees of NTC are not getting their sixth pay commission benefits, if so, the details thereof and reasons therefor, mill-wise and State-wise;

(c) whether the Government has given post-retirement extension of service to NTC Mills and National Jute Corporation employees/officers; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and reasons therefor along with the number of such employees serving in the various units of NTC including Delhi based headquarter and the reasons for giving all the benefits at par with regular employees?

(a): There are 24 units and 86 showrooms and retail outlets under NTC in the Country.

The number of workers/employees and officers serving in these units State-wise is placed at Annexure-I & II.

(b): Out of total 1250 regular Central Dearness Allowance/Industrial Dearness Allowance (CDA/IDA) employees, 224 regular employees (CDA/IDA) posted at various locations in the States of Maharashtra (53 nos.), Punjab & Rajasthan (28 nos.) and Uttar Pradesh (143 nos.) have so far not been extended the benefit of 6th Pay Commission/ 2nd Pay Revision Committee’s recommendations. The revision to these employees could not be extended so far on account of closure of unviable units as per approved revival scheme by Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction (BIFR)/Government. There are no manufacturing activities in these mills as on date.

(c): The Government has not given any post retirement extension of service to NTC mills and National Jute Corporation employees/ Officers.

(d): Does not arise in view of (c) above.
