(a) whether the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has set up one centre at Murshidabad in West
Bengal;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government has sanctioned any funds for the said centre;
(d) if so, the details thereof along with the funds sanctioned;
(e) whether the Government has already released the whole amount to the centre; and
(f) if not, the reasons therefor and the time by which the remaining grant would be released?

(a) & (b): Yes, Madam. There is a Centre of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) at Murshidabad,
West Bengal, which was set up in 2010.
(c) to (f): The University Grants Commission (UGC) has allocated an amount of Rs. 107.80 crore
for this Centre and out of this, an amount of Rs. 60.00 crore has already been released. As informed
by the UGC, release of remaining funds depends upon utilization of grants released earlier and
submission of audited utilization certificate for it by Murshidabad Centre of AMU.
