Question : Funds for NRDWP

(a) the details of funds earmarked and allocated under National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) to the States including Kerala, during each of the last three years and the current year, State-wise;
(b) the total sum disbursed during the said period, State-wise;
(c) the details of habitations covered/likely to be covered to provide safe potable water during 2017-18, State/UT-wise;
(d) whether the Government has undertaken a performance audit of the NRDWP; and
(e) if so, the details and outcome thereof?

(a) & (b)The State-wisedetails of funds earmarked/allocated and total sum disbursed under National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) to the States including Kerala, during each of the last three years and the current year are at Annexure-I.

(c) State/UT-wisedetails of target assigned and habitations covered under NRDWP to provide safe potable water during 2017-18 are at Annexure-II. The habitations likely to be covered depend on the fund absorbing capacity of the State and vary from State to State. Further, under NRDWP, the schemes are being prioritized on the basis of stage of physical completion of the schemes. Hence, the details of the habitations likely to be covered cannot be assessed in advance.

(d)& (e) The Government of India does not undertake the performance Audit for the NRDWP. Performance Audit of NRDWP is done by Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG). CAG has undertaken the Performance Audit of NRDWP, the outcomes of the same are yet to be received from CAG.
