STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PART(a) to (e) OF LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO.415 ON “PORT PROJECTS IN ANDHRA PRADESH” RAISED BY SHRI KONAKALLA NARAYANA RAO AND SHRI JAYADEV GALLA,MPs.

(a)to(b):Under Sagarmala Programme, 33 (13 rail and 20 raod) connectivity enhancement projects and two Coastal Economic Zones have been identified in Andhra Pradesh (AP). Further, nine coastal jetty project proposals from AP are being considered for financial assistance under the Coastal Berth Scheme of Government of India. No other specific proposals than mentioned above has been received from State Govt. of Andhra Pradesh.
(c)&(d):No, Madam.
(e) The projects under Sagarmala will be implemented by relevant Central Ministries, State Governments, Ports and other agencies primarily through the private or PPP mode. Financial assistance under Coastal Berth Scheme would be upto 50% of the total cost of the project subject to a maximum of ? 25 crore for projects related to construction/up-gradation of coastal berths or a maximum of ? 10 crore for construction of platforms/jetties for hovercrafts & seaplanes by Ports/State Governments & passenger jetties in National Waterways and islands by State Governments.
Govt. of India has included standalone‘Shipyards’ in the Harmonized Master List of Infrastructure Sub-sectors and extended financial assistance to Indian Shipyards equal to 20% of the value of each vessel built by them for a period of at least 10 years w.e.f 01.04.2016.
