Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE (SHRI MOHANBHAI KUNDARIA)

(a) to (f): Ministry of Rural Development has informed that the Government is not contemplating to establish Mandi Committees at rural level in the form of Gramin Haat. Under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), there is no component to set up Haat Bazaar at village, district or state level. However, under the erstwhile “Swarnjayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY), there was a sub-component to set up Haats at village, district and State level. From 31st March, 2013, SGSY has ceased to exist. SGSY has been restructured as NRLM and under NRLM, only committed liabilities in SGSY under this component would be honoured.
