STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PARTS (a) TO (d) OF THE
UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 1203 BY SHRI AJIT JOGI TO BE ANSWERED IN
THE LOK SABHA ON 10.03.2005 REGARDING âRAIL PROJECTS IN
CHHATTISGARHâ.
(a) & (b): The project-wise progress along with the target
dates, wherever fixed, anticipated expenditure up to 31/03/2005
and budget allocation proposed during 2005â06 for various
new/ongoing New Line and Doubling projects in Chhattisgarh are as
given under:-

1. Dallirajaha The work was included in 0.44 0.01 raâJagdal- the Budget in 1995â96. pur Construction of (235 Kms) DallirajaharaâJagdalpur (235 Kms) new line is to be implemented through the joint participation of Ministry of Railways, Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) and State Government of Chhattisgarh. The first phase, viz., DallirajaharaâRowghat (95 Kms), is to be funded fully by SAIL. SAIL has not yet deposited the cost of this part-project with the Railways for want of mining permission in Rowghat area and forestry clearance. The work would be taken up as soon as SAIL deposits the money with the Railways and the State Government hands over the possession of the requisite land.
2. Bishrampurâ The work was included in 48.49 22.06 Ambikapur the Budget in 1997â98. (20 Kms) 82.5% of work has been completed. DOUBLING
1. KorbaâGevra The work was included in 42.95 3.50 Road the Budget in 1998â99. (8 Kms) GevraâKusumunda section has been completed and opened to traffic. Work on KorbaâKusumunda section is in progress. The project is targeted for completion in 2005â06.
2. BilaspurâUr The work was included in 171.36 56.00 kura the Budget in 1997â98. (3rd Line) BilaspurâDadhapara has been (110 Kms) opened to traffic. DadhaparaâDagori has also been completed. On DagoriâBhatapara section, track linking is in progress. The work of BhataparaâUrkura section is under National Rail Vikas Yojana (NRVY) and is being funded through Asian Development Bank (ADB) funds.
3. BilaspurâSa The work was included in 6.81 10.00 lka Road â the Budget in 2004â05. Patch Final Location Survey is Doubling under progress. Preparation (39.4 Kms) of Estimates has been taken up.
4. BhilaiâDurg New work included in the â 2.00 (3rd Line) Budget 2005â06. (13.15 Kms)
5. BilaspurâAn New work included in the â 12.00 uppur Budget 2005â06. (except KalachandâK hongsara) with flyover at Bilaspur
(c) & (d): The works are being progressed as per the
availability of resources. Railways have taken a number of
initiatives to get additional resources from sources other than
the normal budgetary support to expedite the progress of the
projects.
