Question : PROVISION FOR PAPERLESS OFFICES



(a) whether the Government proposes to make every office in the country paperless;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government has fixed any time-frame to implement the scheme;

(a)&(b): The Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DAR&PG) has taken up the e-Office Mission Mode Project (MMP) under National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) that has been conceptualized to modernise the Central Government Offices through introduction of Information Technology. The Project is being implemented in three pilot locations, namely, Deptt. of AR&PG, e-Gov Division of DIT and Training Division of DoP&T.

The e-Office MMP is aimed at introducing the concept of e-file in the Central Government offices leading to a ‘ less paper office’.

(c) to (e): The Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances has planned an incremental approach for e-Office implementation initially in 29 Central Government Ministries/Departments by 2015-16.
