(a) to (d) Madam, the Board of Control for Cricket of India (BCCI) has
informed that Justice R.M. Lodha Committee appointed by the Hon’ble
Supreme Court has submitted its report to the Supreme Court. A copy of the
report was given to BCCI on 4/1/2016. Hon’ble Supreme Court passed a final
order confirming the recommendations of the Justice Lodha Committee with
some modifications. The Justice Lodha Committee was asked to ensure the
implementation of the recommendations by BCCI. Justice Lodha Committee
has been advising the BCCI on the time line to be followed for the
recommendations to be implemented. Hon’ble Supreme Court is currently
seized of the matter.
Madam, Board of Control for Cricket of India (BCCI) is a body
registered under the Societies Registration Act. BCCI has not applied for
recognition by Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. Since International Cricket
Council (ICC) recognized BCCI as the National Federation responsible for
promotion of cricket in India, the Ministry only grants permission to BCCI
from sports angle for participation in international events held abroad and for
holding international matches in India at no cost to the Govt., subject to
clearance of the Ministry of External Affairs from political angle and the
Ministry of Home Affairs from security ang
