(a) the details of the areas in the NCT of Delhi where heavy traffic congestions have been reported during the current year;
(b) whether the Government has taken note of the difficulties being faced by Delhites/School-goers due to heavy traffic jams in the NCT of Delhi particularly from Sarita Vihar to Kalindi Kunj and NCR region;
(c) if so, whether the Government has taken any action or deployed traffic police to ease traffic congestion in the NCT of Delhi; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a): The details of the areas prone to traffic congestion in NCT of Delhi are at Annexure.
(b)to(d): The difficulties being faced by Delhites/school-goers due to heavy traffic jams in the NCT of Delhi are in the knowledge of Delhi Police. The Delhi Traffic Police is constantly engaged in regulation, enforcement and education to road users in the NCT of Delhi with an objective to provide safe & smooth flow of traffic on Delhi roads. Towards this, in the present traffic scenario of the city, the utmost priorities of Delhi Police are as under:-
• To provide safe and smooth flow of traffic
• To effectively enforce traffic rules and regulations

• To prevent and reduce road accidents
• To inculcate road safety awareness through education.
• Induction of modern technology in traffic management.
As regards traffic problems from Sarita Vihar to Kalindi Kunj, the reasons are - heavy volume of traffic, ongoing DMRC construction works near Jasola, narrow Yamuna bridge at Kalindi Kunj, increase of traffic after opening of Sarita Vihar underpass etc. In order to streamline traffic in the area, adequate number of traffic police personnel are deployed to regulate traffic. In addition, motor cycle patrol staff is also deployed for mobile patrolling on this stretch to remove any bottlenecks and prosecute drivers found violating traffic rules & regulations. In order to streamline the traffic from Okhla Beraj to Sarita Vihar Delhi, Gautambuddh Nagar Police has also deployed Traffic Police Personnel and Mobile Van.
