(a): Yes, Madam.
(b): The following measures have been taken by RPF to ensure that goods meant for loading in goods trains do not disappear at Railway station-
1. RPF staff are deployed at Goods-sheds at important railway stations, including Wadsa, to prevent theft of booked consignment.
2. Frequent drives are conducted against undesirable/unauthorised elements under various sections of Railways Act in railway premises including yards to prevent such incidents.
3. Wherever possible, seal checking of goods/parcel shed & trains is done.
4. Black Spot areas are identified and plain clothes staff deployed to curb the menace of theft/pilferage of goods.
5. Surveillance over the history sheeted criminals/local criminal gangs is being done.
6. Plain clothes and Crime Intelligence Staff are also deputed for collecting crime intelligence and for surveillance over such criminals.
7. Regular coordination is maintained with Government Railway Police and Local Police for proper registration of case.
8. Surprise checks are conducted against persons/gangs involved in such type of crimes.
