(a) whether the Railway Board has approved the inclusion of two Road Over bridges at Railway Crossings on the National Highway No. 5 between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada in the Railway Works Programme for the year 1998-99;
(b) if so, whether the matter is pending before his Ministry for the execution of these two road over bridges for approval; and
(c) if so, the reaction of the Government in this regard?

(a) to (c) This portion of National Highway No. 5 being part of `Golden Quadrilateral` is proposed to be widened to 4-lane. This will include replacement of existing Railway Level Crossings by Road Over Bridges. National Highway Authority of India has already engaged a consultant for design & project preparation activities. After completion of project preparation, the project will be implemented depending upon the availability of fund and interse priority.
