Question : ONLINE MONITORING OF SECURITY RELATED DATA



(a) whether the Union Government has directed all the States and Union Territories to provide the online monitoring facility of data relating to security in order to tackle any possible terrorist attacks;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Union Government has also directed all States to make necessary amendments or to enact new acts so that the intelligence agencies can monitor the said data on time; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): A software “Terrorist Information System” now called “Integrated Monitoring of Terrorism (i-MOT)” has been developed by the National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) to have a mechanism for creation and maintenance of a centralized data base on terrorist incidents including terrorist financing cases. The Central and State Law Enforcement Agencies upload the data directly to the server through the link that has been provided on the website of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

(c) & (d): There is no requirement of legal regime for the exchange of this information.
